I grew up watching my mom and grandma tie Lapa to wear around the house or to wear for church. I know you may be wondering what is a Lapa so let me explain. If you google it the most clear description I found was this "A 'Lapa,' a piece of fabric worn like a skirt in Africa as casual wear and for dance ceremonies.
Lapa is a “Pidgin” English word, or a mix of words from two languages, that translates to “lap,” or a piece of cloth that covers the lap".
Our Goal at Afrentic is to modernize the Lapa for women who want to be comfortable and chic. For women who want culture with sophistication. For women who ant scared to live in their authenticity.
